From left to right: Consul Saito, JBAH President Kawakami, Acting Consul-General Sagawa and JBAH Advisor Nagawa
On November 4th, Atsuki Kawakami, President of JBAH visited Masaya Sagawa, Acting Consul-General in Houston to submit a written request to appeal for the following border measures:
1. Exemption from the quarantine period upon entry to Japan for those who have completed vaccination.
2. Elimination of restrictions on the use of public transportation upon entry to Japan for those who have completed vaccination.
3. Resume immigration approval and visa issuance for those who have completed vaccination.
4. In addition to only Japanese government-approved vaccines, those who have completed CDC-approved vaccines are subject to the above (1), (2), (3).
The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York as well as All JCC & JBA Board have also made the same appeal to ambassadors in NY and Washington DC in hopes to help streamline procedures for both Japanese and Americans entering Japan, and continue to revitalize economic activities in their respective countries.
As JBAH started the year 2021-2022 this October, the appeal has become a significant step forward in pursuit of our mission.
